A new song, the first for a new record. I intend to document the compositional process by uploading various works in progress, starting with this mini-release, Rusted Stars. It was written and recorded in under an hour while toying with my Korg D16 multitrack in the living room of our tiny apartment.
My fellow home recording enthusiasts are probably the only people interested in knowing which equipment was used for the recording. It was as follows:
- the drum machine and effects built into the aforementioned multitrack
- a Parker Fly Deluxe guitar (with the hum buckers running through a Line 6 Pod and the piezoelectric pickup run direct)
- a Fender fretless jazz bass
- a Rode NT 1 microphone powered by an ART Tube MP single channel mic preamplifier
I will soon re-record this piece with live drums, a more complete arrangement, and an instrumental bridge of some sort. The new version will replace this one when it is complete.
